Representative Leslie Herod saw this need to do better for our local communities, in relation to mental health, substance misuse, and structural issues. The idea was simple: for every $100 spent in Denver, put 25 cents toward addressing these needs. The ballot initiative passed, and Caring For Denver was born. Caring For Denver is a nonprofit that works to give away grants to support programs that have an impact on Denver communities in need.
